NZ DAY 18
MATAPOURI BUSH TRACK: Ngungura to Pataua 11km (total KM's walked 352)
A pretty nothing day today, one of those days that is all about getting from point A to point B. There was a short section of the walk today through Mackeral Forest it as along a gorgeous little river lined with bluebottle flowers and huge lilies. However one notable incident was we had to cross land that was being logged and we actually saw a lumberjack cutting trees down. Seen it plenty of times in n TV but this was live only about 300m from us. When we reached Pataua we made our way to the caravan park and it was really strange the park was pristine but deserted it felt like a scene from a post apocalyptic movie..... a bit unnerving.
HIGHLIGHT: Spending the afternoon in the sun
LOWLIGHT: Setting the alarm for a 4am start
Grateful for a fairly easy walk today, feeling a little drained. Grateful for the park manager giving us a fresh loaf of bread. Grateful for a TV to watch a bit of news.
