NZ DAY 16
MOREPORK ONEKAINGA TRACK: Oakura to Whananaki 20KM (total KM's walked 327)
Today we caught a ride to the trail head with NZ Jenny and just as we started the guess who pulled up in a car. Yes our little Wellingtonian Georgina . Georgia left us behind in the Raetea and we thought that would be the last we see of her and poof just like that she turns up. Today’s walk was a hard but doable due to the climb David and I fell behind the others. A long road walk to finish the day in the rain meant we arrived in camp cold and miserable. Thankfully Tim had organise a cabin for us. The story of today was running into a tramping club half way up our big climb. The whole group where between 65-90 all walking the same path as us and doing it with ease. It made David and I feel very inadequate. New Zealand Trampers are a hardy mob
HIGHLIGHT: Lunch roadside with Jenny & Clea
LOWLIGHT: Getting wet , coming into camp
Grateful today to have Georgia back with us, I really enjoy her effortless walking and outlook on life. Grateful for Tim and Hannah and their commitment to “glamping “ the Te Araroa. Grateful for my hobo lifestyle, making me live more in the now.
