NZ DAY 73
Had the day of today so went into Whanganui, very interesting town steeped in Maori history.
Kō au te Āwa, kō te Āwa kō au. I am the river, the river is me.
We went to the Glass works as Whanganui it is famed for its glass art with over 400 resident artists. The studio had some amazing pieces of glass art. Unfortunately the kiln was being broken down for maintenance so nobody was working.
Also went to the Durie Hill Elevator it is NZ’s only public underground elevator and one of only two in the world. A pedestrian tunnel leads to the elevator and at the top the panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, Mount Ruapehu and Mount Taranaki. It was built to encourage people to buy property on the top of the hill.
I can see clearly now
Today I am grateful for acceptance of myself and others. This is something I have struggled with most of my life. I have been hard on myself and judgemental of other. Today I acknowledge that I have made big steps to accept the imperfect perfect person I am and that other people are the same. I am grateful for the opportunity to experience a lifestyle very different from my own, and the luxury to explore that lifestyle without having to commit to it. I am grateful for my gorgeous daughter and her tenacity in the challenge to change and her courage to stay true to who she is.
