NZ DAY 17
WHANANAKI COASTAL TRACK: Whananaki to Nikau Bay Eco Camp 14KM (total KM's walked 341)
Today started with a gorgeous coastal walk taking us around the headlands then up over the mountain. With great views of the coast, lots of little coves with pristine beaches and some amazing house. A easy forrest walk took us into Ngungura where David and I where shocked to find out that we had beaten Tim and the girls into town. So we sat outside the only shop to wait for them. About an hour later they rocked up and mystery solved they had taken a side track into Matapuri Bay for fish and chips. We finished with a 10 minute boat ride across the mouth of the Ngungura river to an amazing spot called Nikau Eco Camp run by James. This place is truely a slice of heaven for walkers , clearly a labour of love for James
HIGHLIGHT: Nikau Eco Camp and having a hot outdoor shower with my boy.
Today I am grateful for people who have passion, the Campsite we are at tonight is a labour of love and we have the privilege to share that. Grateful for nature’s beauty, I know I’ve said this before but everyday I see nature at its best, pristine, untouched and I just have to say thank you. I’m grateful for my gorgeous partner and the privilege of spending time just chatting with him about everything.
